Hmm, there’s a movie called ‘The World Unseen’. It’s about racism of the whites against the blacks (Indians & Africans), also a love story.
“Overall it’s about finding your place, finding yourself & finding your voice”, shamim sarif.
The director (shamim sarif) which is also the novelist & script writer, worth to give it a look. Another movie directed by her is “I can’t think straight”.

I haven’t buy the book
Maybe can talk about a book I finish read last year, ‘Fingersmith’ by sarah waters. Hmm, didn’t really read every pages, skipped some middle part.
If someone is thinking of to watch the mini series first or the novel, it would definitely be the mini series. The story may start a bit slow in novel, but maybe someone else would like it because of the anticipation.
There is a suprising twist in the storyline, think I shouldn’t tell it. I consider it is the best part.
There is another thing I like about it, it’s story structure. The story is split into 2 parts. The 1st part is from Sue perspective, the 2nd part is from Maud. It tells you about their thoughts on each other, something that you are not aware of while reading through.

fascinating synopsis description from you, sound like 2 girls telling their feeling for each other ? This is really similar to the anime series –>Nana.

I think regardless of lesbian or straight is the same, it is about finding yourself,being yourself and have peace with yourself. Lesbian is just one of the identity- a tag put on us just because the one we love is a girl.
